Stat Logic Sports Week 9 NFL Fantasy Football & DFS Focus: No More Excuses

Just like it is for the players on the field in the National Football League, the NFL Fantasy & DFS season is a marathon - although it does seem to fly by - that is full of twists, turns, adjustments and readjustments. To be successful, we must keep our eyes and ears open all times to be aware of injuries, potential injuries, dramatic team and individual story lines, the waiver wire, the game-day weather, the NFL standings, the Vegas books, our league standings, DFS salaries and on and on and on.

The time we spend on our process daily gives us an edge and provides us with the information we need to be successful. At that point, its on us to make decisions that put our full-season teams in the best position to win and to select the players who maximize our chances of winning some cash in DFS.

Today, as we reach Week 9 and begin to navigate the downward slope toward the end of the season, there can be no more excuses. We've put in the time and we've done the research for two full months. Now it's time to take all the information we've collected over the course of the season's first half and to make sure the time and effort we have dedicated to the process pays off in a big way.

It's time to start believing our eyes.

No, that doesn't just mean we go back to using the good old eye test, although that is part of it. It's time to believe what our eyes have seen on the field and to combine that with all the information we have uncovered and dissected time and again. It's time to trust ourselves and put it all to use.

With confidence. No more excuses.

We're here to help.

Even for us it can be hard at time to trust the hard data we uncover combined with what our eyes are telling us after watching 14-16 games a week for the past two months. The breakdowns we post here every week provide winning information. We have cashed every week except one thus far, but we still leave money on the table by not trusting some of what we post.

Sometimes it's hard even for us to believe what we see and we doubt what we've uncovered. Those decisions can be the difference between winning $25 and $2,500 dollars. Neither is a bad outcome, but one certainly is a lot more desirable than the other.

We realize it can even be more difficult for our audience, many of whom are here because they are committed to the process but don't have the time to commit to it that we do. We are doing our followers and members a disservice if we can't confidently put forth concrete information to help them make the tough decisions and assemble winning lineups.

Up to this point, our DFS and full-season NFL fantasy recommendations have remained pretty much open-ended. Every player we list is one we believe can be part of a lineup that wins us a full-season game or earns us money in a DFS contest. If we had an unlimited supply of funds, we certainly would try all of them in at least one lineup. Unfortunately, we don't, and we assume that is true pretty much for our entire audience.

We also understand that anyone who comes here most likely is more than just a casual football fan or fantasy player. Most visitors probably are looking for some guidance and maybe some new information they haven't seen or heard before. And most people don't want to be told what to do. They want their beliefs confirmed or a nugget of info to help them make a tough decision.

We are the same way or we wouldn't put so much time into doing this. We do it for ourselves, but it also is for those who come here looking for an edge. Our process is good. We are successful. Now, for the second half of the season, it's time for us to put our best foot forward with confidence to help everyone improve their weekly performance.

Starting this week, we are going to provide fewer player options and be more firm and confident in the information we provide. At the end of the day, the audience always can make its own decisions and come to its own conclusions, but our goal is to make it very clear which players we feel will maximize everyone's chances of winning.

That's the ultimate goal, right?

As always, our recommendations are based on the FanDuel main slate, which includes Sunday Night Football, and should be applicable to those of you looking to make difficult roster decisions for your full-season teams.

For those wondering, we are NOT on the Bo Nix train this week. The Ravens D has been a bit suspect against the pass, but it would be a shock if Nix came into that environment against an angry team and defense that is sure to go out of its way to confuse him and pull off a strong fantasy performance. The Broncos have very much over-performed this year.
